Why You’ll Love These Immunity Shots
This recipe for 3-ingredient immunity shots is perfect for anyone looking for an easy-to-make daily boost for their immune system that can easily be meal prepped and only takes a few minutes! The easiest way to make these shots is using a juicer, but I’ve included alternative methods in the recipe notes below!

Made with kiwifruits, ginger, and turmeric, these immunity shots are a true nutrient powerhouse. If you don’t typically like immunity shots because they’re too bitter, you might love these! They are sweet enough to make up for the bitterness, making them a daily boost you’ll look forward to!
🥝 Did you know? While the word “kiwi” is often used to refer to the fruit, the correct term is “kiwifruit” as kiwi is the term used to refer to the kiwi bird, aka the national bird of Aotearoa (New Zealand), as well as a nickname for the country’s people.
What are the benefits of Immunity Shots?
Immunity shots are essentially small servings of fresh juice made with ingredients have a high amount of immune boosting benefits but that can have quite an intense taste (such as ginger, turmeric, and citrus fruit.) Because their taste is so intense, they’re typically used sparingly in juice recipes.

The great thing about these shots is that you can easily consume a whole shot in one go. You’ll often see them sold in the refrigerated section of health food stores, supermarkets, and health conscious cafes, but they can easily cost $4-$6 per small bottle/shot. Making them at home reduces the cost significantly (to about $0.5-$1.50 a shot depending on where you buy your produce.)

I love to make a large batch of immunity shots at once, keeping about 2-3 in the fridge for the days ahead and then storing the rest in the freezer. I then let each shot thaw in the fridge in the night before I plan on consuming it.
3-Ingredient Immunity Shots – Ingredient Notes & Substitutions
The following is an overview of the ingredients you’ll need to make this recipe, as well as recommended substitutions. For the exact measurements, be sure to refer to the recipe card below.

- Kiwifruits: I used green kiwifruits to make these immunity shots, but you can use golden kiwifruits as well! Alternatively, you can use lemons or tangerines (in which case you’ll need to remove the peel before juicing them.) TIP: if you love tangerines, check out my 3-Ingredient Skin Glow Juice recipe.

- Ginger & Turmeric: you’ll need fresh ginger and turmeric root for this recipe (not the powdered kind.) If you can only find one of them, simply use that one and adjust the amount accordingly.
Recommended Equipment

- A juicer: a cold press/slow juicer is ideal for these immunity shots. I personally love my Nama J2 juicer.
- Optional accessories: all other accessories are optional, but I’d recommend small glass shot bottles to store the shots.

How to Make These 3-Ingredient Immunity Shots (Step by Step)
The following is a step-by-step overview of how to make these immunity shots. For a recap, be sure to check out the recipe card below.
Step One: Add The Produce To Your Juicer

Start by adding the produce to your juicer’s hopper (if your juicer doesn’t have a hopper, start by turning the juicer on, then adding each piece one by one). TIP: No need to peel any of it prior to juicing, just make sure you brush the pieces clean if there’s any soil etc.

Step Two: Start Juicing

Turn your juicer on to start juicing the immunity shots.

🧡Tip: Turmeric’s intense orange color can leave a stain, so be sure to rinse off your juicer and pitcher right after using them.

Step Three: Serve and Enjoy Your Immunity Shots!

If you’re enjoying your immunity shots right away, pour them into shot glasses. If you’re planning on drinking them (or some of them) later, either store them in airtight bottles in the fridge for up to three days or in the freezer (you can use ice cube trays if you don’t have freezer-safe bottles.)

Storage & Recipe Tips

Here are a few tips to ensure the best possible result when making this recipe.
- Refrigerate your produce: If you’re planning on drinking your shots right away, but don’t want to use ice cubes, be sure to refrigerate your produce, including the fruit, beforehand. That way your immunity shots will be extra cold and fresh when you drink them!
- If you can, use a slow/cold-press juicer: if you’re currently looking for a new juicer but are unsure which one is best for you, I highly recommended looking into a slow juicer (which masticates the produce to extract the juice without using heat) over a centrifugal juicer (which uses a motor). I personally have both the Nama J2 juicer and the Nama J3 juicer (which is the travel-sized version of the J2). If you decide to opt for a Nama juicer, be sure to use the code “BOV10” at checkout for 10% Off.
3-Ingredient Immunity Shots – Frequently Asked Questions

Can I meal prep these shots?
Yes! You can meal prep them and then store them in small airtight bottles in the fridge for up to 3 days. To store them for longer, freeze them in freezer-safe bottles or ice cube trays.
Can I use different ingredients?
Yes! Feel free to replace any or all of the ingredients, just keep in mind that the ginger and turmeric are what makes these qualify as shots rather than just tiny juices. Some people also like to add a pinch of cayenne pepper or other ingredients.
What if I don’t have shot glasses or bottles?
You can simply store your shots in one larger bottle and then portion them out every day or use ice cube trays if freezing them.
Which juicer is best?
Any high quality, cold-pressed juicer is best (compared to centrifugal juicers). My personal favorites are Nama Juicers (the one I used for this recipe is the Nama J2 cold-press juicer in white. TIP: use “BOV10” for 10% OFF all Nama Juicers.)
Can I make these immunity shots without a juicer?
Yes, the notes section in the recipe card below lists alternatives to using a juicer!
