Watermelon is one of my absolute favorite ingredients to add to homemade cold-pressed juices (like my watermelon cherry berry beet juice and my watermelon cucumber & lime juice). This variation is great for when you want a juice that has the same bright red color as regular watermelon juice but with some added greens to make it a little less sweet!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

watermelon juice
  • This watermelon juice is easy to make and ready in just 5 minutes
  • It’s sweet, but not too sweet!
  • Thanks to the romaine, it’s like a green juice without actually being green, which makes it a great option for kids as well
  • It’s hydrating and refreshing, perfect for hot summer days

Ingredient Notes & Substitutions

The following is an overview of the ingredients you’ll need to make this recipe, as well as recommended substitutions. For the exact measurements, be sure to refer to the recipe card below.

juice ingredients
  • Watermelon: watermelon is the star of this juice recipe, so I wouldn’t recommend substituting it, but other types of melon (such as cantaloupe) would work too!
  • Romaine lettuce: romaine lettuce is great because of its mild flavor. You can also use iceberg lettuce or butter lettuce. Other types of greens, like spinach or kale, work great too, but they’d definitely change the color of the juice.
  • Lemon: lime works too!
  • Fresh Mint Leaves: I love adding fresh mint to juice recipes, but feel free to omit if you’d like! Otherwise, any other fresh herbs (like cilantro or parsley) are a great fit too.
Nama C2 juicer

I used my Nama C2 Juicer & Blender to make this watermelon juice, but any cold-press juicer works! My other two favorites are the Nama J2 and the Nama J3 juicer (they’re essentially all the same juicer, but in different sizes and/or with different features. The J3 is the travel-sized version of the J2 and the C2 is the same as the J2 but with an added high-speed blender function.)

TIP: Use “BOV10” at checkout for $80 OFF the C2 Blender (the same “BOV10” code will also get you 10% OFF all other Nama appliances and accessories.)
