Table of Contents
These 4-ingredient cold pressed wellness shots are a combination of two of my favorite juicing recipes: my kiwifruit immune shots and my 3-ingredient juice for glowing skin. I love having these ready in the fridge or freezer for an extra convenient way to consume more healthy produce without requiring too much time or effort.

While I’ve come to love healthy foods and drinks after loathing them years ago (you can read more about that in my story), I still believe in balance and in enjoying both comfort foods and more health conscious foods. I also believe that healthy food should be both delicious and convenient and these wellness shots are no different. You can make them in just 5 minutes and while the taste is intense (thanks to the ginger and turmeric), they also taste great (in my opinion)!

And in case you’re wondering what exactly cold pressed wellness shots (also called immune shots, or immunity boosting shots) are, they’re essentially mini super juices that include higher quantities of ingredients you’d typically only use sparingly (because of their intense taste), such as ginger, turmeric, or lemon. This allows you to maximize the benefits of these ingredients.
The Benefits of Cold Pressed Wellness Shots
Consuming wellness shots regularly is an easy way to add more antioxidant-rich ingredients to your life without requiring too much time or prep work.

The exact benefits will depend on the ingredients of your specific wellness shots, but those that include potent ingredients like ginger and turmeric promote overall wellbeing thanks to properties that strengthen your immune system and are anti-inflammatory.
Ingredient Overview & Notes

- Carrots: juicing carrots has a lot of benefits, plus they’re affordable, yield a lot of juice and can easily be found year round. If you don’t like carrots, however, you can use other ingredients like beets or oranges (for a sweeter version.)
- Ginger: ginger is an amazing immune booster. Its taste is quite intense (which is why wellness shots are such a great way to consume it), so just be aware of that if you’re new to juicing ginger.
- Turmeric: the same goes for turmeric. If you prefer, you can also pick either one of them and simply double the amount used.
- Lemon: I don’t recommend skipping the lemons in this recipe! I tried making these wellness shots with and without them and adding them made a huge difference taste wise! If you’d like a version without lemons, I’d recommend trying my kiwifruit immune shots.

Recommended Equipment

- Juicer: I used my Nama J3 Juicer (which is the more compact, travel-sized version of their bestselling J2 Juicer). If you’re currently looking for a new juicer, you can use my code “BOV10” at checkout for 10% OFF all Nama Juicers.
- Strainer: you can use a pulp strainer or any other kind of fine mesh strainer.
- Wellness Shot Bottles or Glasses: any glass, jar, or container will work, but for the ideal serving size, shot glasses or shot bottles with lids are great!
- Ice Cube Tray: if you’re planning on freezing your cold pressed wellness shots for later, I recommend using ice cube trays.
Can you make these wellness shots without a juicer? Yes! It’ll be a little more labor intensive, but you can blend the ingredients (just make sure you remove the seeds from the lemons as well as the peel) and then strain the liquid using a nut milk bag.
How to Make These Wellness Shots Step by Step
Start by preparing your produce. Wash the carrots (or brush off any dirt using a produce brush), then cut them into pieces small enough to fit your juicer’s hopper.

No need to peel the carrots, ginger or turmeric. For the lemons, slice off or peel the peel.

Add the ingredients to your juicer’s hopper, then close the lid.

Turn on your juicer and once the juice is ready, strain it into a pitcher.
Note: I usually consider straining juice optional, but for these cold pressed wellness shots, I highly recommend it!

The juice pulp can either be discarded (ideally composted) or stored in the fridge or freezer to use in recipes like savory muffins later on.

To serve your wellness shots, you can use small shot glasses, shot bottles, or (if you don’t have either), small cups. Alternatively, you can also store them in one larger container.

Pour the wellness shots into your glasses or bottles (or freeze in ice cube trays for later) and enjoy!

Recipe & Storage Tips

- These wellness shots can be stored in reusable bottles in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer (in ice cube trays) for longer.
- Anytime you’re juicing turmeric, be sure to thoroughly clean your juicer right away to prevent stains.
- Don’t skip the straining! I tried both the strained and unstrained version of these wellness shots, and the strained version was much smoother and therefore more enjoyable!
